Jane Yolen生于纽约，获得教育学硕士。每天早晨5点多Yolen便开始了写作。她说“我不在意故事是真是假，我只讲值得讲的故事。”她有数不清的写作素材和构思，但宁愿去描写亚瑟王和罗宾逊的时代，也不会去创作“现代小说”，因为“我们没有生活在英雄的时代”。Yolen被誉为美国的安徒生和二十世纪的伊芳索，她创作了许多童话故事书。写了超过一百五十本给儿童、青少年及成人阅读的书。此外，她还写了百余篇的故事和诗。Yolen也是一位老师、演讲者及评论家。她获得过许多奖项，如：Nebula Awards、Christopher Medals等等。她的作品The Empereor and the Kite曾获得1968年Caldecott银奖，Owl Moon是她的代表作，获得1988年Caldecott金奖。她六十多岁了，已经出版了200多本着作，仅2003年春季就出版了7本。“我就是停不下来，”谈到写作时她说“这是强迫症，写作是我爱做的事。”

《Fog Islan》（雾岛）作者简介

汤米·温格尔高中退学后，他曾在欧洲各国游历了两年多。之后，在阿尔及利亚的法国骆驼骑兵团服役一年。回到斯特拉斯堡，在国立装饰艺术高等学院学习了几个月，开始从事橱窗设计、广告插画等工作。随后，被美国插画家的作品所吸引，于1956年乘船前往纽约，希望获得更好的发展机会，1957年发表的处女作《梅隆斯去飞翔》，获《Heraid Tribune》报春季儿童图书节名誉奖。从此他广泛涉足儿童读物、讽刺画、广告美术设计等领域，发表了一系列作品。1971年，由于对都市生活的厌倦，他和妻子曾一度移居到加拿大的乡间，现居住在爱尔兰西南部。温格尔以其出色的作品获得了大量的奖项：为表彰他在儿童读物领域所做出的突出贡献，1998年汤米·温格尔被授予国际安徒生插画奖，2000年10月被欧洲委员会任命为"欧洲儿童和教育大使"。德困政府还特别授予他"联邦政府荣誉十字勋章"以表彰他对文化事业的贡献。主要绘本作品有《三个强盗》（少年儿童出版社）、《章鱼埃米尔》、《季拉妲的巨妖》、《月亮先生》等。
