In this boisterous exploration of naughtiness, Shannon (How Georgie Radbourne Saved Baseball) lobs one visual zinger after another as David, a little dickens, careens from one unruly deed to the next?coloring on the walls, tracking mud all over the carpet, jumping on the bed in red cowboy boots. Meanwhile, all those timeless childhood phrases echo in the background: "Come back here!" "Be quiet!" "Not in the house, David!" and most vigorously?"No!" This is our daughters favorite book. Everything the other reviewers wrote is true. It's sweet and touching and yes the little bear is happy sneaking in and snuggling with his parents. We love it... And our daughter does not sleep in our bed :)

A great short story (with adorable illustrations) of a bear family doing meaningful activities together. Kind of radical in its wholesome simplicity. Those really ARE the activities that are meaningful to kids (and parents) and what we all need to make time for. Personally, I don't think twice about the one illustration of a family bed scene at the end, our kids seem to understand that how the bear family sleeps might not be how we sleep (same deal with photos of litters of baby animals, you name it). No peril and not over sentimental, just warm fuzzy story. Well worth it.

Format:HardcoverI found that this book would be great to use to introduce a weather bear in a pre-K or Kindergarten class. The book follows the decisions Bear makes when he gets dressed in the morning. Three articles of clothing are given to choose from and then we find out what Bear picked. His decisions are based on how the weather is. I think this is a good book to help young children learn how to chose appropriate close for the weather. I highly recommend it.
